ICJHR is a non-profit, independent non-governmental organization based in Geneva. It was founded in May 2014 and focuses its work on the defence of human rights in the Gulf countries, in particular the United Arab Emirates. We regularly work on cases of torture, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions and unfair trials, making urgent appeals, reports and communications to UN special procedures and treaty bodies about these cases.

What we are campaigning for?
-    An independent and fair justice system
-    Freedom of expression and opinion
-    An end to enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention
-    The abolition of torture, harassment and discrimination
-    International standards to be upheld for the dignity, rights and freedom of all citizens

Who we work on behalf of?
-    Human rights defenders
-    Prisoners of conscience
-    Migrants
-    Women
-    Children

How we work ?

- Informing the international community about human rights violations in the Gulf

- Working closely with both regional and international human rights mechanisms, including the UN, EU and Gulf Cooperation Council

- Producing statements, reports and urgent actions to bring individual cases to the attention of those in influence, including the governments responsible
